Client Operations is where the majority of Services people reside and, typically, people in the workgroup are based permanently at a client location. Application Outsourcing (AO) incorporates skills which support the programming, management and maintenance services required to implement and support new installations or maintain and improve existing legacy systems for our clients.Purpose of the Job:* Server administration and maintenance including setting up the environment for newly acquired hardware/software;* Generate, configure and optimise the performance of the databases;* Document benchmarks and procedures needed to optimise performance and ensure that all guidelines are followed;* Provide statistics of server performance;* Input to the Server Capacity plan for the client (servers, both hardware & software);* Network support, which will only consist of problem identification (the network is managed by 3rd parties);* Providing the operations environment with technical support by resolving related requests;* Provide input on any design decisions for interfacing or integrating databases;* Conduct build releases to Production and Training environments* Create/execute Batch runs for Web environment (if required);* Daily Backups for the following: General Technical maintenance & administration activities, such as cutting CD's, tape backups, Desktop software review, etc.; and* Support the efforts of the test lead and deployment lead to plan and deploy the applications.General tasks* Work effectively as part of a team and seek to support the team's goals;* Report weekly formal status to the relevant team leaders.
